Data security

Clear rules for your data

With the schematic, you hand over know-how. MHD knows the value of this data from its own development work and protects it with three simple, strict rules.

Step one

Identifying sensitive data

Modern designs carry their know-how in many places: in the FPGA or ASIC design, in bought-in modules, but also in a clever layer stack-up or a particular mechanical arrangement. The free initial consultation therefore first establishes which parts of your project need special protection, before anything is handed over.

Step two

As little exchange as possible

Just as Gerber data is enough for your PCB fabricator, the schematic is usually enough for MHD. Processor software and ASIC internals stay with you. Or, in the words of the old MHD security concept: the safest data is the data you never handed over.

Step three

Three rules for everything that is handed over

NDA

Non-disclosure agreement before the first file exchange, if you wish on the basis of your own template.

Minimal data exchange

Only what is needed for library, schematic and layout is handed over.

OpenPGP

Email communication fully encrypted on request, from quotation to final data delivery.

FAQ

Data security at MHD

What heads of development want to know before the first handover.

Can we use our own NDA template?

Yes, by all means. MHD is happy to sign on the basis of your template; alternatively, there is a lean standard agreement.

What is the minimum we need to hand over?

For a layout: the schematic and your design guidelines. As a rule, MHD does not need firmware, FPGA bitstreams or ASIC internals at all to work on the board.

How do we start encrypted communication?

You send your public OpenPGP key or request the MHD key. From then on, the exchange runs fully encrypted on request.

Who other than MHD sees our data?

Partners from the network are brought in only for a specific project and by agreement, and are then bound by the same confidentiality rules as MHD itself.

Before the handover comes the conversation.

The initial consultation establishes what needs protecting, free of charge and without obligation.

What is it about?

One selection is enough, the rest comes up in conversation.

Please select a request type.

Your project in your own words

A short description is enough. Confidential details do not belong here; if you wish, we sign an NDA before any file exchange.

What should we hand over at the end? (optional)

Please describe your project briefly.

How can we reach you?

You will receive an initial assessment.
